We sold him some nylon and it was delivered to the wrong address. I was ready to ship him some more, but it was found. In the process of going back and forth, it was the application that intrigued me first.... but now the gentlemen, Richard Weise does equally. Do these wonderful outdoor people really exist. Handsome, thoughtful, intelligent, world travelers... well all I can say was that he was nothing more than a true gentleman for the little dealing I had with him. He writes a blog, and he's even all over YouTube.

I wanted to give him a shout out, and also tell you this nylon hammock idea is cool. Because we're selling off the nylon cheap on ebay, it'll cost you likely under $15 plus rope. He describes, "the easiest projects in BORN TO EXPLORE is making a hammock out of 4 or 5 yards of fabric. Just tie a knot at each end of the fabric and tie some rope(lark knot) to a tree and you have an instant floating station of comfort." Now run over to Ebay and get some great deals on our fabric.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 301px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0bEeaZBfD0w/ShXkiP7YhiI/AAAAAAAAAco/XKbTzA56c34/s400/P5204466.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338424210359879202" />

Pennant Shaped Finding

Hey I might have mentioned before that I coordinate an effort to sell off some our inventory on deals in Ebay. This little effort has made me look differently at any of inventory laying around; and of course I look for a little help from my friends. With that said, we have some cool cheap pencil offerings, some scrap book and children crafting ideas, and this week a CHRISTMAS Tree pin coming out of a failed sport pennant pin offering from a few years ago. So I was walking around with this really cool pennant shaped plated pin finding with rhinestones and said to a fellow woman co-worker, "I'm going to show this to my wife maybe she could make a cool jewelry pin out of it."... then she said, "Well turn it that way Dave and it's a Christmas Tree"... Hot digitty dog... she was right. Well I haven't sold any yet but the idea worked out.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0bEeaZBfD0w/SuNvDOxBJtI/AAAAAAAAAqk/eQ2OsKhvw9M/s320/Pennant+pin.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5396278879813969618" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 255px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0bEeaZBfD0w/SuNvMN1rxvI/AAAAAAAAAqs/xU-KN8uyD0M/s320/pic2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5396279034183927538" />

Here a link to the post 2"x1" Christmas Tree / Pennant finding with rhinestones

And should I win awards for my sell copy?

This finding is an absolute gem. It was created for a sport pin project with quality in mind. The brass metal has a thin gold plate and a string of rhinestones attached. The military clutch and post has an additional anti-rotational spur so it will not spin when attached. We're selling them in lots of 6... yes a winning bid will receive 6 pin findings, and you can let your creativity flow. First my wife took a look at it and said Swarovski flat back gems & Bicones can be glued to it. Then she added a top Marguerite Lochrose flower bead and a Christmas tree was born. She said that she could easily see the clutch clipped from the back and earring posts added. At 2" it would not be the longest dangling earring known to womankind. Or talented painters could quickly make it a unique work... Then she said, it's beautiful just as gold, maybe as tiny ornaments. Well now back to the original premise... I as a sports fan could easily see the light now where a crafter would buy only their favorite team's colors... SAY GREEN and GOLD... and the pin could be worn in either the horizontal pennant or vertical tree shape. Now with just a little more imagination it could be a megaphone shape for your favorite cheerleading coach or team. We'll post this in both an auction format and buy now so first dabble with a small order and come back for a larger order. While we think we have a lot of these... I bet they'll be gone fast

Cylinder Key Rings and Attitude License plates

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 263px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0bEeaZBfD0w/SrMAMzC89MI/AAAAAAAAAnE/aVdDuHFek9M/s320/Cylinder+Key+Ring.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382646199498896578" />Boy there are going to be about 24 happy bidders when they find and buy these cool plastic license plates and get a free cylinder key ring... yes is moves around just like a cylinder. Ok the Pennant is a classic stick and ball sport icon but when WinCraft came to NASCAR licensing in the 90's it brought to the market the classic pennant. Now look at the history in this collection. Bill Elliott with McDonalds, 1995 Jeff Gordon's FIRST Championship, Ernie Irvan who's career was cut short by his eye injury, Mark Martin's Busch ride with Winn Dixie, Remington's sponsorship years with the venerable Morgan Shepard, and who can forget and didn't love the Wisconsin native Dick Trickle. We've organized three of these packs, and will put more together if these sell. Just can't guarantee that the same ones will be in the next assortment.

WWE 90's pennants

<img style="float:left; King, Ph.D.

Dr. King is director of Cultural Studies & Analysis (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, phone 215-592-8544), identifying cultural values in products and marketing for business and institutions.

Is your work at the crisis state? If so, you may have approached the state where your creativity is also really at its maximum. You'll see what I mean when I dissect, from the recent book and movie, the Apollo 13 mission to the moon.

"Houston, we've got a problem." These famous words, spoken by astronaut Jim Lovell from space in April 1970, launched a famous public demonstration of solution-finding.

The spacecraft was made of three components: the main command module, the service module, and the lunar landing module. Fifty-five hours into the mission, a cryogenic tank exploded in the service module, thus causing loss of oxygen and power to the command module. From that moment, the mission was not about success. It was about something far more important: solving an unforeseen problem under sudden and unexpected limitations.

"Failure is not an option," Gene Kranz, lead flight director for Mission Control, announced to the ground crew in Houston as Apollo 13 approached the critical earth-to-moon decision loop. Did he mean that failure had been an option at one time, but wasn't now? Perhaps that was why things weren't working the way they should have.

Read the rest of the article here.

Now... in this day of cut throat win at all cost; I have to temper my comments to say ... within ethical constraints Failure is not an option, and dang it... it's good to strive to win and to achieve. Yes we do lose at times, but losing is not failing in a game of sports if you lose with dignity and learn to appreciate how your opponent beat you. Apollo 13 is inspirational because nobody gave up, and with the positive attitude like that, they succeeded. Plus I told you that story because of this:

and it's available here at Ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280383785422#ht_500wt_1153

You probably never thought I would go Garrison Keilor on you... or even infomercial...
